Carsten Charles “CC” Sabathia Jr., a California native, turns 37 Friday, July 21.
Sabathia became the highest-paid pitcher in MLB history upon signing with the Yankees in 1009.
The pitcher played the first 7-and-a-half seasons of his career with the Cleveland Indians, where he won the 2007 Cy Young Award.
He played the second half of 2008 leading the Milwaukee Brewers to theWild Card, the team’s first playoff appearance in 26 years.
