Englewood's Ellie Lubin Receives Award From Human Services Council

ENGLEWOOD, N.J. -- A prominent Englewood woman was recently presented with the Dr. Celia Weisman Memorial Award.

Ellie Lubin was bestowed the accolade from the Human Services Advisory Council.

Lubin was nominated by the Women's Rights Information Center (WRIC), a service which offers job training and placement services, as well as housing alternatives for single-parent families. 

Liz Corsini, former chair and current board member of WRIC, presented Lubin with a plaque and expressed her gratitude.

In addition to being a trustee and treasurer of WRIC, Lubin was instrumental in founding its shared housing program.  

An active member of National Council of Jewish Women for over 50 years, Lubin is the Honorary President of NCJW Bergen County Section

The Dr. Celia Weisman Memorial Award is given to an individual and/or organization making significant contributions to the residents of Bergen County in the field of human services. 

Celia Weisman is known for her work as an educator, community leader, advocate and volunteer who demonstrated commitment to older adults.

NCJW BCS provides educational programs and speakers throughout the year, including six general meetings and a myriad of study groups, book groups and trips.
