Tenafly Senior Steals Spotlight At Closter Pet Rescue Stripper Show

CLOSTER, N.J. — Whistles and cheers drowned out Kevin Lyttle’s “Turn Me On” as Marilyn Chaus wheeled herself to the front of makeshift stage at a Closter steakhouse.

The 86-year-old clenched a dollar bill in one fist and thrust the other into the air as she eagerly awaited her lap dance Thursday night with the half-naked man dressed as a doctor dancing onstage.

“I’m going to fake a heart attack,” said Chaus of Tenafly, raising both hands as “Adonis” made his way to her wheelchair from across the stage.

It was the pinnacle of the evening for Chaus but also a memorable moment for 50 or so women who crowded around her - all there to support Pet ResQ’s “Hotties for Hounds” fundraiser at Sear Steakhouse on Piermont Road.

The night featured food, drink, a silent auction -- and a half-dozen male strippers.

“Everyone has 24 hours in a day to make a difference. That’s supposedly what humanity should be,” said Pet ResQ founder Robyn Urman, who organized the event. “It’s just a matter of finding the right cause.”

Eventually, the music faded out and Chaus got ready to leave — but not before saying goodbye to the dancers.
