Miguel A. Chimbo-Orellana first kidnapped and sexually assaulted the adult victim in Englewood, in August 2024, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella said.
Chimbo-Orellana later kidnapped and sexually assaulted the victim multiple times in Englewood and Queens, NY on multiple occasions, and threatened to kill the victim, Musella said. On Monday, Oct. 21, Chimbo-Orellana was charged with kidnapping, sexual assault and witness tampering, criminal restraint, among other charges.
An additional investigation determined Chimbo-Orellana attempted to sexually assault a child between the ages of 13 to 16 years old in Englewood, Musella said. Chimbo-Orellana knew the, Musella said.
He faces additional charges of attempted aggravated sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a child.
He was found in Englewood on Thursday, Oct. 24, and arrested by detectives from the Special Victims Unit and the Englewood Police Department. Chimbo-Orellana was remanded to the Bergen County Jail pending a first appearance in Bergen County Superior Court in Hackensack.
