The restaurant’s name is inspired by an ancient tradition shared by Chinese and Japanese cultures: "Hanami," a celebration of nature, family, and good fortune centered around the revered flowering cherry tree, according to the restaurant's website.
Readers' Choice voters were quick to praise Hanami's menu.
"The quality of the food is excellent," said one Readers' Choice voter. "The portions are generous. This is the only Asian restaurant my family will eat from."

The 2024 Daily Voice Readers' Choice contest to name the Best of the Best in Bergen County began with reader nominations in October and ended with a voting period for finalists in 80+ categories in December.
