BettiJo Williams Obituary BettiJo Leslie (Burns) Williams, of Pedricktown, died peacefully on Monday, April 22, surrounded by her family, after a long battle with cancer, according to an obituary published by Adams Funeral Home. She was 41 years old. BettiJo, a native of Bridgeton, grew up in Millville and was a 2001 graduate of Millville High School.  In 2012, she moved to Pedricktown and, over the years, she worked for the Pennsville National Bank, starting out as a teller in Pennsville and working her way up to branch manager in Woodstown, her obituary said. Man Awarded $750K Over 30-Year-Old Sex Assault Case At Salem County Youth Facility A man from Woodbury has won a $750,000 lawsuit for sexual assaults that he was allegedly subjected to at a Salem County youth shelter 30 years ago. Dennis Bachman filed suit in Superior Court in December 2019, accusing a female counselor of sexually assaulting him at the former New Jersey Juveniles in Need of Supervision facility in Woodstown. The alleged abuse occurred around 1994 when Bachman was 15 years old. The lawsuit accused the county of failing to monitor the counselor’s behavior and failing to prevent the sexual assaults.  The lawsuit says the counselor "exploited the trust…

Woodstown Man, 37, Killed In Greenwich Crash With Tree: State Police A 37-year-old Salem County man was killed when he ran off a Cumberland County road and hit a tree, authorities said. Douglas G. Hitchner Jr., of Woodstown, was driving south in a Chevrolet SUV on Tindall Island Road in Greenwich Township at 5:05 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 19 when his vehicle veered off the road to the right side, according to Detective I Jeffrey Lebron, a spokesman with the New Jersey State Police. The SUV hit a tree and Hitchner sustained fatal injuries, Lebron said. The crash remains under investigation.
