Starbucks Delays Closing Trenton Store
Amid intense lobbying by New Jersey federal, state and local officials, Starbucks has delayed closing its Trenton store. The popular coffee chain previously announced a closing date of March 30. A company spokeswoman did not say when the store will now close. "Yes, we have extended the closure date for our Trenton Community Store to support transition for our customers and the community; we look forward to serving our customers at nearby Starbucks locations," she said. Passenger Critically Hurt In Route 1 Mercer County Crash
A 39-year-old woman from Pennington was critically injured in a crash on Route 1 in West Windsor, authorities said. On Wednesday, Feb. 28 at about 2:20 p.m., West Windsor police responded to a single-car crash on Route 1 South just south of Carnegie Center Blvd. The vehicle that crashed was reported to have struck a pole and was in the roadway, West Windsor police said. A preliminary investigation found that the Honda was traveling south when it veered off of the roadway and struck a telephone pole, police said. Toms River Company Among 19 NJ Businesses Who Owe $1.1M In Unpaid Dues, State Says
Nineteen businesses who owe a total of $1.1 million have been barred from public contracting until they pay back their dues, the New Jersey Department of Labor said. R.A. Florio Building Contractors Inc., of Toms River, for example, has been ordered to pay $39,555.57 to the state, according to the department of labor and workforce development. Driver, 78, Killed, Passenger Seriously Injured After Car Strikes Tree In Mercer County: Police
A 78-year-old man who suffered a medical emergency died after his car struck a tree in Mercer County, authorities said. Jared Fowler, of Pennington, was driving near Fackler Road and Deer Run at about 2:45 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 7 when he veered off the road, Lawrence Township police said. Fowler was taken to Capital Health Systems Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced dead, police said. His passenger, Janne Fowler, 78, was taken to the hospital with significant but non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

UPDATE: A New Jersey massage therapist acquitted by a jury of sexually assaulting a client still had his license permanently revoked, state authorities announced. Jurors found Asmar R.
