Hunter Finds Human Skull In South Jersey Forest: State Police State police are investigating after a human skull was found in a state forest in Ocean County, authorities said. Troopers responded to Brendan T. Byrne State Forest in Manchester Township at around 7 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 23, according to a state police spokesperson. Police had received a report of a hunter who discovered "human remains." State Denies Beach Erosion Prevention Plan For Jersey Shore City A plan to protect beaches in one Cape May County city has been blocked by the state, officials said. The state Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP) sent a letter to the City of North Wildwood denying an emergency request to build a beachfront bulkhead, the city announced on Thursday, Feb. 1. The proposal called for a 752-foot-long steel bulkhead from the middle of 12th and 13th avenues to 15th Avenue.  The proposed bulkhead would be 12 feet tall and capped with boardwalk-style decking.
