Humid conditions during the first potential heat wave of the year could make it feel like it's over 100 degrees at times. Monday, June 17 will be mainly sunny with a high in the mid-80s. Temperatures will soar into the 90s in much of the Northeast starting on Tuesday, June 18. The mercury is expected to hit 90 degrees or higher each day, possibly through the end of the week. A new tropical system has developed and is expected to become a major hurricane threatening the East Coast by this weekend. Tropical Depression 13, now in the Central Atlantic is headed on a northwestern path, the National Hurricane Center said. The storm is expected to create "stronger surf and rip currents" along the Eastern Seaboard, from Florida to Maine, AccuWeather said.
