Walmart Agrees To Whopping $1.64M Settlement Amid Unfair Pricing Accusations At NJ Stores Walmart has agreed to pay $1.64 million to settle accusations of unlawful pricing at its 64 stores across New Jersey, state officials said. The settlement, which includes a $1.61 million civil penalty, is the largest ever obtained by the Division’s Office of Weights and Measures (“OWM”). Walmart was accused of violating New Jersey’s Consumer Fraud Act (“CFA”) and Unit Pricing Disclosure Act (“UPDA”) by using inaccurate unit pricing for a variety of grocery products sold in the chain’s New Jersey locations, Attorney General Matthew J. NJ Transit Changing Refund Policy After Criticism NJ Transit is continuing to tweak its ticket policy. NJ Transit announced that refunds will be made available for unused one-way tickets purchased prior to Saturday, June 1. The refund policy will also apply to rail 10-trip tickets.  Tickets purchased on or after June 1 must be used by the end of July and will not be eligible for refunds. Last month, NJ Transit announced all tickets purchased prior to July 1 will expire on July 31, regardless of their original date of purchase.
