Firefighters Free Driver In Englewood Crash
Englewood firefighters extricated the driver of an SUV that hit a parked vehicle and landed on its side. The Honda CRV coincidentally struck another CRV before topping on Van Nostrand Avenue between Broad and Grand avenues just off westbound Route 4 around 3:30 p.m. Friday, March 25. The driver was checked out and cleared by EMS.

Englewood Pedestrian, 70, Struck By Car Along Treacherous Stretch
A 70-year-old pedestrian was struck by a car in the southeast end of Englewood early Thursday. The city resident was struck at the corner of Broad and Van Nostrand avenues around 6:30 a.m., Police Chief Lawrence Suffern said. She was conscious and alert when taken to Hackensack University Medical Center with leg and back injuries, as well as a cut on her head, that didn't appear life-threatening, the chief said. VIDEO: An explosion leveled an industrial building Wednesday morning in Englewood. "Thank God there's no fatalities, no injuries," Mayor Michael Wildes said. "Looks like a gas explosion." Fort Lee Driver, 93, Hospitalized In Englewood Crash
A 93-year-old driver from Fort Lee was hospitalized after a Wednesday crash in Englewood, authorities said. The woman was turning right from eastbound Van Nostrand Avenue onto southbound Broad Avenue when her 2007 Lexus collided with a 2002 Dodge Durango driven by a 35-year-old Belleville resident shortly before 3:30 p.m., Deputy Police Chief Gregory Halstead said.
