State authorities on Monday charged Saddle Brook Police Chief Robert Kugler with ordering on-duty police officers to conduct escorts for his funeral business using department vehicles. The Bergen County Prosecutor's Office has temporarily assumed control over the day-to-day operation of the Saddle Brook Police Department as a result, state Attorney General Gurbir S. Two New Jersey state troopers were arrested Tuesday on child porn charges, authorities announced. Jeffrey Reitz, 48, of Williamstown, already was under indictment on possession of child pornography charges in connection with texts he’d had with a civilian, authorities said. During those exchanges, a woman “proposed that Reitz sexually assault a young girl and sent him a sexually explicit photo of the girl,” state Attorney General Gurbir S. Grewal said. Correctional Officer From Union Gets 4 Years For Smuggling Fentanyl Into Prison For Cash
A former senior correctional police officer at Northern State Prison in Newark was sentenced to four years behind bars Friday for smuggling fentanyl and marijuana to an inmate. Roberto Reyes-Jackson, 31, Irvington, smuggled “multiple single-dose wax folds of a powder compound laced with fentanyl to inmate Aaron Copeland” between September and December 2016, state Attorney General Gurbir S. A former Mahwah High School art teacher was charged with having sex with an underage student there. Joshua Green, 33, of Clifton, was charged with sexual assault, official misconduct and child endangerment.
