Faulty Lithium Battery Ignites Bergen Home Fire
A damaged lithium battery ignited a living room fire in Dumont, responders said. The fire broke out in a home at the corner of East Madison Avenue and Depew Street shortly after 10:30 a.m. Sunday, March 13. Firefighters quickly knocked it down, containing it to a single room. Homeowner Helps Douse Hackensack House Fire
A Hackensack homeowner used a fire extinguisher to knock down some of a flash kitchen fire, responders said. Members of Engine Co. 5 doused the rest of the Clinton Place fire, which broke out shortly before 7:30 p.m. Thursday, city firefighters said. Other companies checked and ventilated the home.
