Route 287 Stop: Mahwah Officers Find 4 Guns, Ammo, Ski Mask, Cash Scattered In Sports Car
Two Mahwah police officers found a pair of North Carolina men carrying four guns, dozens of rounds of ammunition and more during a Route 287 stop, authorities said.
Officers Matt Buonacore and Frank Federico stopped the 2015 Dodge Challenger for several traffic violations on the southbound highway shortly after 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, Police Chief Stephen Jaffe said.
As driver Guilherme Desouza Mendes, 19, retrieved documents from the glove compartment, the officers noticed a box of ammunition, Jaffe said.

Paterson drug detectives raided a public housing development and seized 426 heroin folds, 45 bags and 18 vials of crack, a loaded handgun and $7,822 in drug proceeds, authorities said.
They arrested seven adults, as well as a 16-year-old boy who they said was carrying a loaded handgun.
