Heroes: Police Revive OD'ing Driver After Hawthorne Crash As Fire Spreads To Nearby Home An SUV driven by a motorist who responders said was overdosing on drugs crashed and caught fire Friday morning in Hawthorne, spreading flames to a nearby house. Hawthorne police administered Narcan to the driver, who was taken to St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center, while firefighters doused the flames around 11 a.m. The extent of the driver's injuries couldn't immediately be determined. The GMC Yukon first hit a parked vehicle a few blocks away and then a utility pole on Hutchinson Avenue -- tearing the bumper off completely -- before coming to rest in front of the home. One Hospitalized, Traffic Jammed, After Chain-Reaction Crash On Route 208 In Hawthorne A rush-hour crash on southbound Route 208 in Hawthorne sent one person to the hospital and jammed traffic for miles. The injuries weren't considered life-threatening, responders said after the 4:45 p.m. chain-reaction crash involving three vehicles. Traffic quickly backed up to the Cedar Hill Exit in Wyckoff. Citywide Towing removed the most seriously damaged vehicle. Hawthorne EMS took the injured occupant to The Valley Hospital in Ridgewood. Michael Jannicelli contributed to this account.

Photos: SUV Overturns In Hawthorne Crash Two vehicles collided on a Hawthorne street Tuesday afternoon, rolling one of them onto its roof. "Looks likes someone was going a little too fast," a witness from the area said. Hawthorne EMS attended to both drivers, each of whom refused hospitalization after the crash at the intersection of Forest and Warburton avenues. Firefighters from two Hawthorne companies responded, along with two flatbed towers, one of which righted the overturned SUV.
