Ridgewood police are attempting to locate two people who attempted a residential burglary in the village on Thursday, Feb. 15. At 5:15 p.m., officers responded to a report of a package theft at a home in the area of Northern Parkway and East Glen Avenue, Ridgewood police said. The homeowner said when they arrived home they confronted two people inside their residence, police said. A woman and child were shaken up but otherwise OK after their wagon collided with a small dump truck Saturday morning in Ridgewood. The other driver and his passengers were OK after the woman's Volvo Cross Country and his Holly Hill Landscaping truck from Haledon crashed at the corner of East Glen Avenue and Northern Parkway around 10 a.m. Saturday, June 17. Firefighters doused a smoky house blaze Monday morning in Ridgewood. The fire is believed to have begun in the basement and spread upward through the walls of the George Street home off Canterbury Place -- just a couple blocks from the firehouse on East Glen Avenue -- around 9:45 a.m. April 17. A trio of high-end shoplifters who swiped nearly $18,000 worth of jackets and parkas from a Paramus Ski Barn earlier this month were captured after hitting the same store exactly a week later, authorities said. A truck snapped a utility pole in half, downing wires and temporarily blocking access to a Ridgewood school on Monday. The crash occurred on East Glen Avenue near Quackenbush Place just off northbound Route 17 shortly after 9:30 a.m. The driver wasn't injured. An Upper Saddle River motorist was drunk when he drove into oncoming traffic and onto a Ridgewood sidewalk, knocking over parking signs, before his SUV slammed into another vehicle several blocks away, authorities said. Ridgewood Firefighters Free Driver In Rollover Crash
Ridgewood firefighters extricated a driver who was trapped after her SUV got knocked onto its side in a collision Wednesday afternoon. The woman was hospitalized after her Subaru Forester collided with a Hyundai Santa Fe on East Glen Avenue at Corona Place around 2:30 p.m. Paramedics from the Valley Hospital joined the Ridgewood Volunteer Ambulance Corps and village police and firefighters at the scene. Sedan Topples Pole Outside Ridgewood School
A driver escaped injury Wednesday when his car slammed into a utility pole outside a Ridgewood elementary school. The four-door Honda slammed into the pole on East Glen Avenue at North Vien Street next to the Benjamin Franklin Middle School around 12:50 p.m. It toppled a street sign and left the pole leaning over the vehicle. Officers OK after Ridgewood Police Cars Collide
Two Ridgewood police officers escaped serious injury Sunday after their patrol vehicles collided while both were responding to a CPR call. Both were taken to the Valley Hospital in Ridgewood for evaluation after the crash involving a marked SUV and sedan at East Glen Avenue and North Van Dien Avenue, one of which snapped a utility pole. RIDGEWOOD, N.J. -- Ridgewood police released a photo Wednesday morning of a car that struck a village police officer and then sped off. The officer was struck on Van Emburgh Avenue during a traffic stop near Cathleen Terrace -- near the Washington Township border -- just after 10:30 a.m Monday, Police Chief Jacqueline Luthcke said.
