Impaired Driver In Illegally Parked Car Found With Coke, Pot, Xanax: North Arlington PD
A 37-year-old motorist found illegally parked in North Arlington was carrying significant amounts of cocaine, Xanax and pot, authorities said.
Juan D. Maldonado was under the influence and had some of the drugs in plain view in the vehicle when officers approached him on River Road near Arlington Boulevard early Sunday, Aug. 20, Police Lt. Michael Horton said.
Maldonado, who the lieutenant said also had drugs on him, was taken into custody.
He was charged with DUI and 10 various drug-possession counts, including having them for sale, then was sent to the Bergen County Jail.

A fugitive who crashed a stolen car while being chased by Rochelle Park police ran across six lanes of traffic on Route 4 before he was captured in Paramus, authorities said.

Lyndhurst PD: Fleeing Motorcyclist From Lodi, 19, Captured Carrying Drugs, Knife
A motorcyclist who tried to give a Lyndhurst police officer the slip was captured following a brief chase, authorities said.
Jaydan Tejada, 19, of Lodi, was carrying a large kitchen knife, a ski mask, and assorted drugs -- crystal meth and psilocybin mushrooms, as well as THC candies and vaporizers -- following the pursuit, Detective Lt. Vincent Auteri said.
It began shortly after 11:30 p.m. Mondy, Aug. 7, when Officer Nicollette Villani spotted a pair of motorcycles heading south on Park Avenue.

Fleeing Driver Nabbed After Crashing Off Route 17: Saddle River PD
A driver from Rockland County who sped off from a Route 17 stop and crashed moments later was captured on foot miles away, Saddle River police said.
John N. Papain, 37, of Suffern, was pulled over on the northbound highway shortly after 1:30 a.m. Monday, July 17, Saddle River Police Chief Jason Cosgriff said.
Papain was speaking with the officers on the side of the road when he suddenly hit the gas of his 2009 Ford Escape and sped off, the chief said.
Rather than pursue him, the officers watched as Papain turned onto Plesant Avenue, then followed him, Cosgriff said.
