Firefighters Douse Multi-Family Ridgefield Park Blaze Firefighters doused a house blaze Sunday night in Ridgefield Park. The two-alarm fire broke out in the basement apartment of the multi-family 4th Street home just off Central Avenue shortly after 10:30 p.m. May 7. Police: Hackensack Man Slams Windshield With Sledgehammer, Flees A Hackensack man smashed a car windshield with a sledgehammer in the parking lot of a local supermarket, then led police on a brief chase Thursday afternoon before being caught in Ridgefield Park, authorities said. Responding Hackensack officers tried to stop Gary Jones, who sped off in an older-model BMW after damaging a vehicle at the West Pleasantview Avenue Stop & Shop across from his home around 2:45 p.m., Capt.
