Several occupants were in the 2019 Honda Pilot when a license plate reader flagged the vehicle – which had been reported stolen out of Elizabeth earlier that day -- shortly after 10:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 13, Deputy Police Chief Matthew de la Rosa said. Close CALL: Female Driver, 75, Hospitalized After Tree Falls On SUV In Englewood A 75-year-old driver was injured but narrowly escaped a more tragic fate when a falling tree hit her car in Englewood. The Totowa motorist was headed south on Broad Avenue near Huguenot Avenue in her 2002 Lexus SUV when the tree toppled onto the roadway, taking down a utility pole and wires that fell across the vehicle, around 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 1,  Police Lt. Fred Pulice said. She complained of pain to her neck and back and was taken to Englewood Hospital and Medical Center, Pulice said. That stretch of Broad Avenue remained closed while the tree was removed and repairs were made.

The Honda CRV coincidentally struck another CRV before topping on Van Nostrand Avenue between Broad and Grand avenues just off westbound Route 4 around 3:30 p.m. Friday, March 25. The driver was checked out and cleared by EMS.

The 2019 Buick Enclave's driver, also 50, said she was headed south on Broad Avenue at the intersection of Meadowbrook Road around 5:40 p.m. when "she heard a thud," Deputy Police Chief Gregory Halstead said.
