All Bergen Tech High Schools Go Remote Until 'At Least' Jan. 15 After COVID Positives
All four Bergen County Technical District high schools will be closed to on-site instruction beginning this Monday through "at least" Jan. 15 because of positive coronavirus tests, officials announced Friday. Sheriff: Two More Bergen County Jail Inmates Test Positive For Coronavirus
Two more inmates at the Bergen County Jail recently tested positive for the coronavirus, one of whom was hospitalized and another who was receiving medical care in an isolation unit at the lockup, Sheriff Anthony Cureton said Monday. The 40-year-old Salvadoran national in ICE custody and a 54-year-old county inmate brought the total number of inmates who tested positive to three, the sheriff said. Bergen County Jail Corrections Officer Tests Positive For Coronavirus, 7 Others Self-Quarantine
A corrections officer at the Bergen County Jail tested presumptive positive for the coronavirus, leading seven co-workers to self-quarantine as well, Sheriff Anthony Cureton said Thursday. Fifteen inmates at the jail were placed on quarantine, as well, the sheriff said. "The test was declared presumptive positive on Wednesday by the New Jersey State Department of Health and has been sent to the Center for Disease Control for confirmation," Cureton said. Five Bergen County Jail inmates were confirmed with mumps, authorities said Friday. "The Bergen County Department of Health Services has received confirmation of five of the 6 suspected cases of mumps in the Bergen County Jail with no additional cases at this time being reported," said Michael Pagan, a spokesman for County Executive Jim Tedesco.
