Demarest Music Students Take Home Awards At Chicago's Heritage Festival

DEMAREST, N.J. -- Students from Northern Valley Regional High School at Demarest took home awards at the Hertiage Festival in Chicago, Ill. between March 31 and April 3. 

David Kim, who won Maestro for Piano Accompanying and Ann Youn, who won 2 Maestro Awards for Oboe.

The Chamber Orchestra, the Bel Canto Women's Choir and the Sophomore Women's Choir all took home gold medals for their performances. 

The Windy Symphony and the Concert Choir were awarded silver medals. 

The Chamber Orchestra received an Adjudicator's Award for receiving a score of 93 or above. All of the Music Groups received the Sweepstakes Award for having the highest combined departmental score.

David Kim won a Maestro award for piano and Ann Youn won two Maestro awards for oboe. 

The top performing groups in the Heritage Festival are invited to perform in the Festival of Gold or the Festival at Carnegie Hall.
