Cresskill School District To Institute More 'No Homework' Weekends

CRESKILL, N.J. -- The Cresskill school district is planning on adding two additional no-homework weekends this year, NorthJersey.com reported.

The policy is designed to help students be more balanced and have some downtime and spend time with their families. The idea came from Denise Pope, a Stanford University professor who came to speak to in fall of 2015 about balance for students, according to NorthJersey.com.

Superintendent Michael Burke noted that the weekends' timing was aimed at the middle of grading periods, NorthJersy.com reported, since it's harder to limit studying as the periods draw to a close.
