CLOSTER, N.J. -- The Closter Board of Education is seeking applicants to fill a seat on the board that became vacant effective Jan. 7.

The successful applicant will serve as a board member from the date of appointment for a term of approximately 11 months, ending immediately before the organization meeting the first week of January 2017.

Individuals interested in applying for this vacancy should forward a letter of interest and their resume or qualifications to Peter Iappelli, board secretary, 340 Homans Ave., Closter, NJ 07624, or via e-mail at iappelli@nvnet.org.

Applicants must submit their letters of interest and accompanying documents no later than 4 p.m. Tuesday to be eligible for consideration.

Applicants should be aware that at the time of the appointment, a member of the board must be least 18 years old, a registered voter, a United States citizen, able to read and write English and a resident of Closter for at least one year immediately preceding the appointment.

The board expects to conduct interviews of the candidates, which shall take place in public, during its public meeting at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan, 21 at Tenakill Middle School, 275 High St., Closter.
