The owner of the house at 36 Haring St. looked out her front door moments after the tree fell around 2:30 p.m. She made a phone call and then quickly went back inside without talking to anyone.
Neighbors told CLIFFVIEW PILOT it’s the second tree that’s fallen in the past year off the corner at Haring and Demarest Avenue.
Emergency workers and utility crews were summoned, while residents — fearful of the downed power lines — remained inside or temporarily left the neighborhood.
