The vehicle was headed east on High Street when it struck the Rockland Coaches bus, which was headed south on Closter Dock Road, sending it into another car around 8:15 a.m., Closter Police Chief Dennis Kaine told CLIFFVIEW PILOT.

The bus had 14 passengers on board, the chief said.

Several firefighters and EMS rigs responded to help passengers off the bus through a side emergency door and get the injured into ambulances. Another bus was dispatched to collect the remaining passengers.

Five people refused medical attention, he said.
