The Closter Dock Road housekeeper found the man tied up around 10 a.m. and called police.

The man, who doesn’t speak English, told a Spanish-speaking officer that the two robbers rang his doorbell around 9:30.

When he opened the door, he said, one punched him hard in the face, knocking him back into his living room. He said they then tied him up and dragged him into the kitchen.

The victim, who declined medical attention, described the robbers as both white, with blond hair. One was tall and thin, he said, and the other shorter and heavyset, wearing a North Face jacket.

He was trying to determine what was stolen and its value, Closter police said.
