Officers responding to a report of a man yelling and screaming on Grand Street near Palisade Avenue just after 1:30 a.m. yesterday found Alnardo Zayas running toward them in the middle of the street, Lt. Richard Uram said this afternoon.
He “continued running toward the officers’ vehicle, jumped onto the hood, then threw himself on the windshield” before rolling off, Uram said.
Zayas “continued to scream and swear at the officers” and was ordered to the ground, the lieutenant said.
“He refused, clenched his fists and began advancing toward the officers,” he said.
That’s when he got a Taser jolt.
Zayas “continued to resist arrest and was eventually placed into custody,” Uram said.
Officers found him carrying a pocket knife and a small amount of an unidentified drug.
Zaya was being held on $30,000 bail in the Bergen County Jail, charged with resisting arrest and disorderly conduct, as well as weapon and drug possession counts.
