Fairview police say borough man sold pot outside school

YOU READ IT HERE FIRST: Fairview police called to a report of a fight arrested a 20-year-old borough man who they said was selling pot near a borough school.

Edwin Danny Chicas was being held on $25,000 bail in the Bergen County Jail.

He is charged with distributing marijuana, having drugs on school property, improper behavior and underaged drinking.

Officers were called to the area of Delano Place and Shaler Avenue around 7 p.m. Monday, where they found a drunken Chicas fighting with juveniles, Police Chief Frank DelVecchio said.

Lincoln Elementary School is just up the street.

Chicas, who is unemployed, was due in Fairview Municipal Court this afternoon.
