"It's nothing serious," Detective Sgt. Vincent Aiello told Daily Voice. "It was considered very suspicious because of its location in the middle of a busy parking lot.
"It also had been partially used, which "made it appear at first that it had been modified somehow," Aiello said.
A store employee who found it moved the cart to the west side of the store, away from the other cars, the sergeant said.
Responding police officers moved it further away and evacuated the store and parking lot, he said.
The Bergen County Sheriff's Bomb Squad and K-9 units responded and determined that the roll didn't contain any explosives.
Everything quickly returned to normal.
