Cresskill police investigate shot fired into house under construction

YOU READ IT HERE FIRST: Cresskill police were trying to determine who fired a bullet into the second floor of a single-family house under construction around midnight last night.

Neighbors reported hearing the shot, and contractors this morning found the bullet hole in the building at County Road and Park Avenue, Detective Jason Lanzilotti told CLIFFVIEW PILOT this afternoon.

Tenafly firefighters provided a ladder truck to bring investigators from Cresskill and the Bergen County Bureau of Criminal Identification up to the second floor in a bucket to retrieve evidence.

Both the bullet and a shell casing were recovered, Lanzilotti said.
