Tibor M. Kalocsay, 93, Of Cresskill

CRESSKILL, N.J. -- Tibor M. Kalocsay , 93, of Cresskill, died April 22, 2016. 

He was born Dec. 7, 1922, to Joseph and Stephanie Kalocsay in Vrutky, Slovakia. 

He studied law in Bratislava and worked as a prosecutor in Zilina before fleeing Stalinist oppression and escaping to Germany. He spent several years in Germany working for Radio Free Europe before coming to the United States, where he became a naturalized citizen. 

He met and married his wife, Elena Eva Culen, in Cleveland and together they moved to New York City, where they spent more than 40 years and raised their three children. Following the death of his wife in 2009, he moved to Sunrise of Cresskill. 

He was predeceased by his wife; and his daughter Eva. 

He is survived by his brother Joseph of Renton, Wash.; and his two sons, Charlie of Annapolis Md. and Paul of Fort Lee; and his grandchildren Christina and Ryan.

A funeral Mass will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at Holy Trinity R.C. Church in Fort Lee. Cremation will be private. 

Arrangements are under the direction of Hunt Stellato Funeral Home, 1601 Palisade Ave., Fort Lee.
