The French-born screenwriter moved with her family to New Jersey where she lived variously in Fort Lee, Demarest and Montvale, and went to Saddle River Day School.
She graduated magna cum laude from Harvard University, and went to New York City to seek a job in publishing.
She ended up taking a course in screenwriting and has since gained national attention for films including “Annie,” which she co-wrote, “27 Dresses,” “The Devil Wears Prada” and more.
