The dance performance is raising funds for A Slice of Hope, an organization based in New York City whose goal is "energizing the mind, body and spirit and bringing a sense of renewal and empowerment to the donors as well as recipients."

According to the group's website, "We feed the body with pizza. We feed the spirit with live music. We feed the mind with a happy moment and a happy memory. When people are reminded of happier times, it gives us the strength to fight on. It reminds us that life can get better. One happy moment can change a life."

A Slice of Hope's pizza parties are often held at homeless shelters, and help highlight the work those shelters do, continually. The group hopes its work also helps to increase donations to shelters and food banks.

Cresskill Performing Arts is producing the event. The other participating dance studios are Dance Theatre of New Jersey, New York Dance, Main Stage Dance Academy, Jersey City Dance Academy, Mook Dance Company -- and professional dance soloists and duos will perform as well.

Tickets are $20 in advance -- buy them here -- or $30 at the door. The event begins at 3 p.m., at Cresskill High School, 1 Lincoln Dr.
