Kids will have opportunities to hike, dig, examine nature up close and discuss the environment. The center offers two-hour programs for kids from 4-6, and three-hour programs for those 7-14 years old. Both morning and afternoon programs are offered each week. The weekly programs are Monday through Thursday.

There is also a "Nature Adventure" program for 11-14-year-olds, which "focuses on extensive hiking, survival skills, Native American activities and other more challenging outdoor exploits."

"For over 45 years, our goal has been to help every child become active and at ease outdoors, to see him/herself as a part of nature and to appreciate the natural world as a source of learning and adventure," organizers note.

The cost for the two-hour program is $70 per week for students whose families are members of the Closter Nature Center and $90 for non-members. For the three-hour program, it's $90 for students whose families are members and $110 for non-members. Annual family membership dues are $40 and may be sent in with your registration.

Scholarships for those in need are available upon request. E-mail CNCsummer@gmail.com.

Groups will be limited to 15 campers, so early registration is recommended. No refunds will be given after June 27, 2016. An E-Mail will be sent to you to confirm your camp registration.
