CGI Holistic Fitness & Spa will sponsor its second annual Heroes Talent Show for the International Brain Education Association (IBREA) of New York and New Jersey from 7 to 10 p.m. on Nov. 13.
The association's mission is to educate and empower individuals and communities to realize the potential of the human brain through the study and application of special training.
"It’s all over Korea and other places," said Gina Gallucci, an administrative assistant at CGI. "We are trying to bring it here to New Jersey."
For a $10 admission, attendees can watch graduates of the brain training program show how it works. "Heroes" will also share their personal stories in a Q & A session while guests enjoy refreshments and raffles.
Gallucci, a psychology major who attended Northern Valley Regional High School in Old Tappan, is anxious to bring area students to the program.
“In Bergen County, there seems to be many problems with depression and drug use," she said. “I’ve known a lot of people personally who’ve passed away from overdoses over the course of the last yea.
"I personally am passionate about improving the quality of life of high school students in the area,” Gallucci said.
