Closter Celebrates National Trail Days At Borough's Nature Center

CLOSTER, N.J -- The Borough of Closter is celebrating National Trail Days on Saturday and Sunday, June 4-5, and residents and guests are invited to participate in family-oriented walks and hiking, while discovering the wonders of the woodlands.

The Closter Nature Center is a good spot for family time throughout the year -- and its hiking opportunities will be on display during National Trail Days.

That weekend, you can learn more about Closter's extensive trail system and explore the community's woodlands. On Saturday, the Closter Environmental Commission will be at the Closter Nature Center Cabin, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Commission volunteers will provide trail maps and guide tours.

On Sunday, the Nature Center will host "Pond Day," and members of the Nature Center will explain the ecology of the Nature Center and its trails, and provide trail maps.

"Whether you enjoy hiking, walking or photographing wildlife, this is a wonderful weekend to explore new areas," the borough noted in a Thursday Facebook post.
