DEMAREST, N.J.– Catch one of Shakespeare's comedies, "Twelfth Night," for free at the Demarest Gazebo at 7 p.m. on July 21.
The one-hour play will be performed by the Next Stage Ensemble, the Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey's touring company for early-career actors.
The actors are traveling to more than 20 New Jersey locations in July and August to perform.
"Twelfth Night" – written in 1601 or 1602 – tells the tale of shipwrecked Viola, who disguises herself as a man and tries to get a job at the home of a powerful and lovestruck duke.
Mistaken identities, misplaced love and music make the evening great fun, according to the Next Stage Ensemble.
Shakespeare by the Pond is sponsored by the Demarest Recreation Commission.
