The advisory is in effect from 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 21 until 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 22. It covers Northern Westchester, Putnam, Rockland, and Orange counties in New York, and western Passaic in New Jersey,

"Rain will change to snow or a mix of rain and snow in these locations," the National Weather Service said. "This is very elevation dependent, where we are expecting 2 to 4 inches for locations above 500 feet with the highest amounts expected across locations at 1,000 feet or higher."
Wind gusts could be as high as 25 miles per hour Thursday night and during the day Friday.
Overnight low temperatures will range from the low to mid-30s.
Precipitation in spots where there is snow will become all rain late Friday morning as the temperature gradually climbs. Friday's high is expected to be in the low 40s.
Rain is expected to wind down early Friday evening.
The outlook for Saturday, Nov. 23 calls for mostly sunny skies and a high temperature around 50 degrees.
