An Essex County pair wanted out of multiple towns were arrested at a Paramus mall getting into a stolen Lexus, before one was found with a handgun, police said. Officer Kevin Grady was patrolling the parking lot at Westfield's Garden State Plaza Saturday, July 6, when he noticed a 2012 white Lexus R35 that had ben stolen out of Orange on July 3, Paramus Police Chief Robert Guidetti said. The opening of the brand-new Paramus Chick-fil-A is imminent. According to Paramus Mayor Chris DiPiazza, the Chick-fil-A being built alongside the northbound side of Route 17 will open in the first week of May. A Spirit Halloween store will be opening at the former Best Buy at the Garden State Plaza. The store has not yet announced an opening date and only says "coming soon" on the website. Five Guys To Open At Garden State Plaza Food Court
The food court at Westfield's Garden State Plaza is about to get even better. Five Guys is expected to open in the fall, according to a sign in the mall. Last April, the burger chain closed its Fort Lee location. The mall's food court was recently named the best in New Jersey in a Daily Meal article. No word yet on an opening date.

Sixty smaller stores are proposed to replace the JCPenney at Westfield's Garden State Plaza in Paramus, sources said Monday. JCPenney announced last year it would be closing up to 140 stores along with two distribution centers while instituting an early retirement program in an effort to increase profits in the era of online shopping.
