Flooding, Crashes Close NJ Roadways On Wet Morning: Here's Where
Several traffic- and weather-related incidents closed some of New Jersey's roadways Tuesday morning, Nov. 26. : Lightning Strike In Wyckoff Knocks Out Traffic Lights
A Wyckoff police dashcam captured video of a lightning strike Friday afternoon that zapped a power line, knocking out power to several customers -- as well as area traffic signals. The bolt hit the line at 12:15 p.m. near the intersection of Wyckoff and Russell avenues, leaving it burning in the roadway, Lt. Joseph Soto said. Wyckoff Avenue was closed in both directions between Franklin and Russell avenues until about 5 p.m. Orange & Rockland restored most power except for an isolated area around the downed line. No injuries were reported.

Paramus Mayor's Son Escapes Serious Injury In Fatal Jersey Shore Crash
The son of Paramus Mayor Richard LaBarbiera escaped serious injury Friday morning when another driver ran a red light on a Jersey Shore highway, hit two more vehicles, then slammed head-on into a box truck, killing her 91-year-old passenger, police said. Richard LaBarbiera Jr., 22, had the right of way when his 2017 Jeep Cherokee was struck by a 2013 Ford Focus at a Route 72 intersection in Stafford Township just before 10 a.m., police there said.
