Clifton Pizza Icon Jerry Scotto D'Abbusco Dies, 91: 'Walked The Pipeline For Best Pizza Around' A Passaic County community is mourning the loss of the man behind one of the area's most popular pizzerias. Gerardo “Jerry” Scotto D’Abbusco, who owned and operated Scotto’s Pizzeria in Clifton for 46 years, died on Thursday, Nov. 29. He was 91 years old. Frank Lando, that is: The 65-year-old Toms River motorcyclist, guitarist, and father killed in an April 9 crash in Southampton with a New Jersey state trooper. On Friday, April 19, New Jersey Attorney General Matthew J. Platkin released Lando's identity, as well as that of the trooper involved: Anthony Fernandes. He was 39. Born in Passaic, Juan grew up between Clifton and Passaic, his obituary says. Juan played basketball at Clifton High School before earning a combined bachelors and masters in Social Work from Ramapo College.
