Troubled Dad Plunges To Death From NJ/NY Lookout
A troubled man from River Edge who’d just been involved in a fender bender leaped to his death from atop the Palisades at the New York/New Jersey border on Wednesday, Dec. 13, authorities confirmed. The 38-year-old man had hit a couple of cars while trying to back out of a dead end near his son’s school. A 29-year-old man left some personal items arranged neatly on a rock before jumping to his death Wednesday from the Palisades, authorities said. Several witnesses reported seeing the Stamford, CT resident jump off the edge of the cliff at the State Line Lookout in Alpine, near New Jersey's northeastern border with New York State, shortly before 11:30 a.m. Nov. 22, Palisades Interstate Parkway Police Lt. Human Fetal Remains Found At NY Pump Station, Authorities Urge Mother To Come Forward
Authorities promised anonymity to anyone who comes forward with information about human fetal remains found at a pumping station in Rockland County. A worker found the remains of the fetus -- believed to be a little over four months old -- in a catch drain at the facility on Convent Road in Nanuet shortly before 2:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 9, Rockland County Sheriff Louis Falco said in a Tuesday morning release. Authorities identified both drivers who were killed in a head-on crash over the weekend on the Palisades Interstate Parkway just north of the New Jersey border, responders said. Aristan Garandeau, 22, of Croton-on-Hudson was pronounced dead at the scene after driving his 2017 Subaru Impreza south in the parkway's northbound lanes and hitting a 2016 Toyota Avalon head-on in the passing lane between exits 9 and 10 in Rockland at 2:40 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 6, New York State Police said.
