A fallen tree brought traffic to a halt on Route 17 on Saturday, Jan. 4. The incident occurred between the Franklin Turnpike and Paramus Road exits in Ridgewood, forcing the temporary closure of all southbound lanes, incident photographer Boyd A. Loving reports. Ridgewood Police and Ridgewood Fire/EMS responded to the scene, where two vehicles were damaged by tree debris, including a tow truck. No injuries were reported after a Jeep Wrangler and Mercedes sedan collided outside the Bergen County Duck Pond in front of Valley Health Systems on East Ridgewood Avenue near Paramus Road shortly before 7:30 a.m. Sept. 13. Stolen Car Driver Charged With Assault In Route 17 Crash That Injured Two
UPDATE: A driver was charged with two counts of assault by auto after she rear-ended a car on Route 17 in Ridgewood with a stolen sedan, authorities said. Mille Sauvan, 44, remained at Hackensack University Medical Center in police custody on Monday after responders said they found a crack pipe in the stolen Lexus following Saturday morning’s crash on the southbound highway. Mahwah Home Depot Theft-Turned-Robbery: Ex-Con, Drug Offender Captured On Route 17 In Ridgewood
An ex-con with a 30-year history of convictions assaulted a Home Depot employee in Mahwah before he and two alleged accomplices were caught in Ridgewood, authorities said. Raymond McCutchen, 58, of Paterson, was accompanied by an Oakland woman with an extensive history of her own, mostly for drug offenses.
