Unlicensed Driver Caused Head-On Crash, Seriously Injured Victim In Bergen County: Prosecutor
A 24-year-old unlicensed driver has been charged in a head-on collision that left the other driver seriously injured this week in Bergen County, prosecutors said. Juan Alban Naranjo, of Elmwood Park, was heading west on Market Street in a 2008 Acura sedan when he crossed into the opposite lane of travel, hitting a 2007 Ford SUV head-on Monday, July 8, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella said. Fire Doused At Elmwood Park Entertainment Company
Firefighters doused a basement blaze Tuesday at an Elmwood Park entertainment company. The fire at Sound Surge on Market Street ignited around 10:30 a.m. Aug. 1 and quickly went to three alarms as a precaution because of where in the building it was located, Elmwood Park Police Chief and Borough Administrator Michael Foligno said. "It was difficult to get to, but our firefighters did an excellent job of knocking it down quickly," he said. Box Truck Being Towed Tips Beneath Route 80 Overpass
A box truck tipped while being towed beneath a Route 80 overpass in Elmwood Park, jamming area traffic early Friday afternoon. Another tow was needed to straighten and remove the truck owned by Salerno's Custom Cabinetry in Saddle Brook from the corner of River Road and Market Street shortly after 1 p.m. No injuries were reported. A 69-year-old Paterson woman was struck crossing Market Street in Elmwood Park Monday night, authorities said.
