A woman who was struck and killed by a commuter train in Westwood was identified as an 88-year-old local resident. Cecile L. Archer lived at the nearby Madison Apartments, a few blocks from the other side of the tracks where she and her wheeled walker were hit near the Westwood train station at 9:48 a.m. Monday, Sept. 12. The Pascack Valley Line No. 1605 train had left Hoboken at 8:56 a.m. and was to arrive in Spring Valley at 10:10 a.m., NJ TRANSIT's Jim Smith said. Adult, Juvenile Charged With Shooting Paterson Man Dead In Notorious Neighborhood
An 18-year-old man and 17-year-old boy were charged with shooting a Paterson man dead outside an apartment building in one of the city’s most lethal neighborhoods. Paterson police nabbed Jae’Wuan Abrams at his apartment at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 9, and the juvenile at his home a little over an hour and a half later, Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. A Paterson man was shot dead outside an apartment building in one of the city’s deadliest neighborhoods. The killing of 43-year-old Juan Soto was the third this year in the Silk City’s 4th Ward. : Paterson Boy, 16, Shot Dead, Authorities Confirm
Authorities Friday morning confirmed a Daily Voice report from the night before that a 16-year-old Paterson boy was shot dead outside an apartment building. Responders found his lifeless body outside the Madison Apartments on East 19th Street around 6:50 p.m. He'd been shot in the head, they said. They conducted CPR and requested an Advanced Life Support response, but it was already too late, they said.
