Five adults and four youngsters packed into a single vehicle all escaped injury when shots were fired at them in Passaic, authorities said. Hours after a city police officer stopped a gunman across town, a call came in of shots fired at Fourth and South streets. Several children were among a shocked crowd of people who witnessed a local basketball coach attack a Cliffside Park special police officer in broad daylight.
