Man Accused Of Shattering Windshields Of Moving Vehicles On Mahwah Streets Has Prior Arrests
Mahwah police have announced the arrest of a man who threw a rock at multiple moving vehicles, shattering and cracking windshields this week. John Yager III, 50, allegedly threw the rock at moving vehicles along Franklin Turnpike, East Ramapo Avenue, and Island Road over the past several months, Mahwah Police Capt. Guido Bussinelli said. Several of the drivers had reported that the damage to their vehicles consisted of shattered and cracked windshields. A Rockland County bicyclist was hospitalized after an SUV struck him on a Mahwah road a mile or so from the state line. The 40-something victim was "lucid and responsive at the scene" following the crash on Island Road at 5:15 p.m. Tuesday, April 23, Mahwah Police Chief Timothy O'Hara said. He was taken to Hackensack University Medical Center with multiple injuries, the chief said. Police Investigate Gunshot At Mahwah Firehouse
Detectives were trying to determine who fired a gunshot at a Mahwah firehouse. A bullet hole was found in a bay door window and a round recovered from inside the Fire Company #2 house on Island Road on Thursday, indicating the shot came from outside, a police source told Daily Voice. A Mahwah police officer who suspected no good found a Pennsylvania driver carrying 500 hits of LSD, authorities said. Officer John Rodriguez was on patrol late Monday when he spotted “several individuals acting in a suspicious manner in a municipal commuter lot” off East Ramapo Avenue, Police Chief James N.
