Man, 34, Struck By Car On Route 3 Had Gotten Out Of Vehicle After Crash: Police
A man was hospitalized after being struck by a vehicle on Route 3 Thursday morning, Oct. 31, police said. Police said that the 34-year-old man was a passenger in a vehicle that had just been involved in a single-vehicle crash when he got out and proceeded to walk along the highway around 10 a.m. in the eastbound lanes of East Rutherford. That's when the man was struck by a vehicle eastbound. The victim suffered leg and back injuries and was taken to Hackensack Medical Center. The highway was reopened around 10:50 a.m.

A 62-year-old woman was stabbed and beaten by a 36-year-old Hackensack woman she knew from church at her home in Englewood on Friday, Aug. 2, police said. Kaleema Dicks confronted the victim outside of her home around 3:35 p.m., pushed her way inside and began punching her in the face, Englewood Police Detective Lt. Fred Pulice said. A Garfield man was hospitalized after being stabbed with a kitchen knife during a domestic dispute at his home, authorities confirmed. Pedestrian, 77, Struck In Englewood By 84-Year-Old SUV Driver Sustains Head Injury
A 77-year-old pedestrian was hospitalized with a severe head injury after she was struck by an SUV driven by an 84-year-old motorist in Englewood late Tuesday afternoon. Officers Adolfo Gutierrez and Dona Nidelko began rendering aid to the victim, who was struck just before 5 p.m. at West Palisade Avenue and Cottage Place, Deputy Police Chief Gregory Halstead said. They were relieved by EMS personnel, who took her to Hackensack Medical Center, the deputy chief said. The SUV driver remained at the scene and wasn’t charged – although Halstead noted that the investigation was continuing.
