Firefighters made quick work of a late-night blaze at a Wyckoff shopping center pizzeria. A fire alarm brought responders to Pizzeria Mandara in the Boulder Run shopping center off Franklin and Godwin avenues as snow continued to fall shortly before midnight Monday, Feb. 27. Firefighters Free Three In Route 23 Head-On Crash Involving Ambulance
Wayne firefighters extricated three occupants following a multi-vehicle head-on crash involving a private ambulance at a Route 23 intersection. No serious injuries were reported in the Feb. 20 mid-morning collision on the northbound highway at the light just past Waynechester Plaza, which sent four occupants in all to the hospital. The fire broke out shortly before 9:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 16, on the second floor of the Vanderburgh Avenue home at the corner of Clark Avenue. UPDATE: Two Pompton Lakes firefighters were hospitalized and three others treated at the scene of an overnight explosion that leveled a local home. The two firefighters were treated at Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston before being released, the department reported Saturday afternoon. Holiday Season House Fire Doused In Cresskill
Firefighters quickly doused a house blaze in Cresskill. No injuries were reported in the mid-evening fire Friday, Dec. 16, in the 2½-story home on Magnolia Avenue off the corner of 4th Street near the ballfields. Mutual aid, either at the scene or in coverage, was provided by firefighters from Bergenfield, Demarest, Dumont, Haworth and Tenafly. Borough fire officials were investigating the cause.

Five employees checked out OK, and firefighters plucked three others from the roof, after a broken refrigeration pipe filled Stew Leonard's in Paramus with carbon dioxide early Tuesday. Faulty Mace Sends 10 To Hospital In Jersey City HazMat Situation
An unsecured canister of mace hospitalized 10 people including four firefighters at a Jersey City building Tuesday, Sept. 13, officials said. Police and fire crews were called to 500 Bergen Ave., around 5 p.m. for reports of a strange odor. Overnight Fire Doused At $2M Fort Lee Home
Fort Lee firefighters doused an overnight house blaze. The fire in the $2 million, 4,600-square-foot single-family home on Briar Way at the corner of Virginia Avenue went to two alarms after breaking out around 3:30 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 11, responders said. Firefighters had it under control within an hour and a half. Fire officials were investigating.
