Victim Struck By Freight Train In Paterson Suffers Broken Leg A freight train injury in Paterson sent an unidentified victim to the hospital, responders said. The person victim suffered a broken leg when hit by the CSX train in the area of Lafayette and East 16th streets around 10 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 17, they said. The victim was conscious and alert when taken to St. Joseph's University Medical Center with a fractured femur, responders said. CSX police were investigating. Additional details hadn't yet been made available as of Wednesday morning.

Police Trying To ID Critically Injured Woman Found On Northvale Freight Train Tracks Authorities were trying to determine how a woman found critically injured on the freight train tracks in Northvale early Monday got there -- as well as who she is.The Asian woman, who appears to be in her 70s, was found around 8 a.m. on the railroad tracks south of Clinton Avenue, Police Chief William Essmann. Weather conditions canceled a medical chopper, so Englewood Hospital and Medical Center personnel took her to Hackensack University Medical Center, the chief said.
